Physicists are actively working on time travel. I read a couple of years ago that a particle of light, I think, was moved a very short space in time. It will be a very long time and possibly never before people go back and forth in time, but the idea is being seriously considered instead of being laughed at.

Is Organized Religion Something You'd Be Involved In Again?
by minimus indo you believe in christianity, the bible, god-----or are you in the "i'm not sure what to think" class?

I would never be involved in any type of religion again organized or disorganized.
I am convinced that the supernatural does not exist and truth can only be found in science.

To Shun Or Follow The American System?
by Englishman ina recent poll suggests that over 90% of americans believe in god.
this compares to around 48% of brits who believe in god's existence.. even the devoutly religious tony blair doesn't want britain to follow in the religious footsteps of the usa, as he clearly states here as he risks incurring the displeasure of george w: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4369481.stm.
so, as a person whose criticism of the us is confined mainly to it's penal system, i was wondering this: do you think that the more religious a country becomes, the harsher it's treatment is of those who err, harsh punishment being seen as a christian virtue?.

Englishman:
What are your criticisms of the American penal system? Is it more than just the death penalty?
The Nazis and Soviets equaled the Communist Chinese in harsh treatment of prisoners.
I think that the more independent thinking is discouraged by the state the harsher the punishment. Religious fundamentalism of all kinds will crack down on dissenters as harshly as single political party states.

What Happened to the Body?
by hmike ini'm fairly new here, so please excuse me if this has been discussed before.
it seemed like an appropriate time to bring this up.. suppose we accept that there really was a man jesus, rabbi, teacher, etc., but just a mortal man.
so if he didn't resurrect, what happened to the body, and how was the "myth" of the resurrection perpetuated, especially in light of the numerous "witnesses" (some of whom were still alive when the accounts were written, if we can believe that part of the accounts) and the effect this had on their lives?

hmike:
Since the Bible is a book of fairy tales there were no witnesses to Jesus supposed resurrection.
Jesus body stayed in what ever tomb he was placed.
We cannot accept at face value a single word written in the Bible.

JW's And the Son(s) of God
by RevFrank in.
according to the witnesses and romans 8,many of the witnesses denie being a part of the spirit of god, especially considering romans 8:9...........yet.......according to 1 john 5:1....first word in that chapter.....whoever, meaning all of us.
so it's fair to say is everyone who believes and loves him is a believer and therefore are son's of god.

RevFrank:
The Watchtower will say that scripture only applies to the 144,000. They and Jesus are the only sons of God. The Watchtower will say that the Bible was not written about the Great Crowd but the Great Crowd does benefit from its study and will enjoy blessings from Christ and His brothers on the parardise Earth.
I think this is crap, but that is how the Watchtower would explain that seeming contradiction.

Russell called for 1,000 Colportuers but never would have dreamed of demanding everyone go door to door.
He realized that the best way to reach people in his time was to have his sermons published in local newspapers. He realized the importance of using new technology by producing the Photo Drama of Creation.
Russell thought that each person would do what he or she thought best and never expected eveyone to do exactly the same thing.

by GetBusyLiving inwhen i was about 10 years old me and my service partner called on a guy that came to the door with a shotgun.
he just said in the most deadpan voice you can ever imagine: ""if you don't get off my doorstep within the next 30 seconds im going to have to use this.
" that was some scary shit.. we bolted.

When the two sisters got back to the car I'll bet they told the group that it looked like a penis but was way too small and the wrong color.

I had dogs sicked on me and proudly showed everyone the teeth marks in my book bag.
Two very pretty naked girls opened the door. I gave my normal presentation and maintained eye contact (most of the time)

With the exception of white sox and the beanie the picture you posted would have been a good likeness of me as a Pioneer.

I was a true believer and loved going from door to door. I was never happier then when I was engaged in a good argument at the door.
